Hi Reader 🤗 In this week's newsletter, I cover topics including:
MAIN TOPICWhat I wish I knew before turning my music into a business1 - Don’t listen to your audience. They don’t know what they need.If I ask my audience for what they want, 80% will ask for yet another music production tutorial, not music business or social media growth advice. But when I publish a music production tutorial video, no one watches them. They are literally my worst performing videos!! But when I publish music business or social media growth videos, they outperform all of my previous videos! Why? Because deep down, what they truly need is music business/social media growth advice that no one else but me covers - not another music production tutorial that they can find anywhere else. So when it comes to your music business growth, it is your job to show them that you know them better than they know themselves. 2 - Make data-driven decisions.Trust me, I hate data tracking as much as you. There isn’t anything more boring than this. But if you want to build a profitable and sustainable music business on your own terms, it is something you can’t escape. For the longest time, I thought Instagram was mandatory to keep my business going. After all, this is where my audience is the biggest right? When I actually took the time to check my data, I realized that 80% of my sales came from YouTube - not Instagram. Since that day, I doubled down on YouTube, let go of Instagram, and my music business is 4x more profitable than before - and more enjoyable for me. 3 - Cheap prices attracts cheap clientsWhen I released my first digital product, I was afraid to charge more than $10. I wanted to keep it “affordable” for everyone. In my head, I thought I was being nice. But undercharging only attracts the wrong clients and customers. It also undervalues your work because people attach value to money. So if your price is “cheap”, your product will only look cheap in the mind of your potential buyers. The day I changed the price of my 12-months plan ebook from $9.99 to $48 is the day I started selling them almost every single day! 👉🏻 For more tips and insights like these, sign up for my 14-day free email course: https://musicbyplv.kit.com/6023c7c2d2 VIDEO OF THE WEEKLand 10x More Music Clients (Website Template)If you sell music services, chances are you have a website or portfolio to showcase your music and get clients to contact you. But if you aren't getting many inbound requests, it is probably because your website and sales page isn't very compelling... Deya (one of my favourite YouTuber at the moment!) made a video where she analyzed 100+ freelancers portfolios to identify the 6 biggest mistakes to avoid and share the perfect portfolio structure to follow to boost conversion rates. If you're smart, it leaves you with one choice: learn to leverage A.I. and include it in your daily workflow. ChatGPT recently launched their own OpenAI Academy where there are multiple videos to help you learn how to use A.I. (like writing better prompts or finding ways to use it). I personally use it more and more to:

Hey Reader, I have a good and a bad news for you today, which one do you want first? Good news? Okay. The good news is that you're not bad at music. You already have the skills and experience. Now for the bad news… The bad news is that nobody knows you exist. If nobody knows what you do, how do you expect them to hire you or buy from you? That they’ll magically find you on SoundBetter?! I don’t think so. There's a difference between: → being skilled and being hireable. → being talented and...
Hey Reader, I’m a black sheep, I’ll admit it. I’m stubborn and I never do what I’m told. A true Aries ♈️ You could argue that it has its cons (and I agree), but I like to focus on the pros. Let me take you back to when I was 6 years old. At school during recess, I wasn’t with any of the other girls in my class. I was on the soccer field playing soccer with the guys. In high school, I was told to go for a scientific master. I chose applied arts. And after my applied arts studies, I wanted to...
