Hey Reader, A few months ago, I could barely run for 1 minute straight. But after a few months of training, I finally ran a 5K! And weirdly, it taught me a lot about building a music business too. Before starting to run, I read tips. Watched videos. Saved running plans. Asked my running friends for advice. But the real lessons came when I actually started running. I kept cramping mid-run until I realized I was drinking too much water during the runs. Something no blog post warned me about. Same with music, content, offers, or pricing. You only learn by messing up and adapting on the go. Doing is the only way to learn. Now when I first started running, I ran in an old hoodie, worn-out shirts and sweat pants for the first month - it wasnāt sexy š I promised myself I wouldnāt invest in fancy gear before I would be consistently running at least 2-3x/week. Once I was consistent, I bought the fancy running jacket and hydration vest. Same goes for your music career or business. Too many music creators wait until they have the right gear, music, or camera to get started. But that stuff doesnāt make you committed. It only makes you procrastinate on what you truly want - except your brain is afraid youāll fail. Action does the opposite. It builds momentum and confidence. Start with what you have. Upgrade once you proved yourself you can stick with it. Now last but not least, Every time I tried to run fast, I got a cramp and it killed my workout before it even started. Iād be out of breath, struggling for the next 30 minutes. It was horrible. Lesson learned, Iāll slow down. Next run? I reached 5K without even being out of breath at the end! I found a steady pace. And just kept going. It wasnāt impressive. But it worked. Same with your music business. Most people quit because they sprint. They start posting content every day for 3 weeks and one of two things happen. They get so tired they burn out and lose passion for music. Or they see no results yet, so they quit. No one claps for slow progress. But slow progress wins. The turtle always finishes the race. So go be a turtle š¢ Keep learning, Aurelie (PLV Music) ⦠P.S. Hey Reader! Four years ago, I had 0 followers, 0 songs on Spotify and I knew nothing about music production. I didnāt even know what a DAW wasā¦! Today, I run a 6-figure music creator business online that continues to grow, whether I post or not. The key difference? I leveraged social media to bring me clients, customers and students even when I sleep. So with that being said, MusiCreator is back. But it isn't the same program you knew before. Over the past six months, we've completely rebuilt...
Hey Reader, Last month, I made one of the scariest decisions in my music business (and life). I spent $7,000 on a mentor. Why would I do that? Because recently, I had the uncomfortable realization that⦠Iām not yet the person I need to be to deserve that next level of success. I procrastinate I donāt go outside much I eat unhealthy I have many limiting beliefs So I knew something had to change. I, had to change. When I joined this room of high-level entrepreneurs (think $1M-$100M rangeā¦), I...
Hey Reader, I recently received this message as a reply to one of my past newsletters: Some people loved it. But others⦠not so much! And honestly? I couldnāt care less. Not because Iām not nice or sensitive but because I know that my coaching style isnāt for everyone š And itās completely fine! If you want fluffy pep talks, endless motivation, or āmanifestation hacks,ā Iām not your person. If youād rather wait around hoping streams will magically pay your bills, Iām not your person. If...
