✨ How To Create Music on YouTube Without Losing Yourself?

Since the moment I opened a DAW for the first time and made a YouTube video about it, I knew I wanted to make this my full-time job.

What's better than getting paid to make music and videos all day long right?!

That's why when I had the opportunity to quit my job, I jumped at it!

Needless to say that I was incredibly unaware of what was waiting for me on the other side.

Turning your hobby into your full-time job brings in new challenges:

• 😰 Being stressed about money every day
• 🪫 Exhausting my creativity
• 🏃 Chasing after clients that don't pay on time
• ⏰ Working 80 hours per week
• 🎓 Wearing 10 different hats at the same time
• 💬 Reading mean comments every day
• 👀 Running after people's expectations

Over time, it can lead to a bunch of mental health struggles, including questions like:

→ "I don't have any creativity left for my own music"
​→ "Should I work on my music or email potential clients?"
​→ "I haven't booked enough clients this month, should I take this sponsorship request on top of everything else?"
​→ "I don't have enough time for music, how can I mix music and content creation?"
​→ "I know this video would work well for the algorithm, but I'd rather make this one - will my music business suffer from that decision?"

Those are the kind of questions music creators like myself ask themselves all the time.

So last week, I hoped on a chat with Ben Levin, another successful music creator with a YouTube Channel of 176K subscribers to talk about creativity when being a full-time music artist/creator.

We recorded the whole conversation while we discussed topics such as:
