INSIGHTS OF AN ARTIST'S JOURNEY May 13th, 2025 Why “listen to your audience” is the worst advice 🙈Hey Reader, Early in my journey as a music creator, I kept hearing the same advice: “Just listen to your audience.” So I did. I posted what they asked for. I followed every comment, suggestion, and DM like it was gospel. At first, it felt great - views went up, followers trickled in, and I thought, “I’m doing something right!” But then something strange happened… Despite all the growth, my business wasn’t growing 🔻 No one was buying my products. I felt stuck - like I was entertaining, not building. That’s when I started to realize: ✅ To grow a fanbase, yes - listen to your audience! ❌ But to grow a music business? Don't! Instead... Your role is to understand them better than they understand themselves. Let me explain. Your Audience Doesn’t Know What They Need (Yet)Most people don’t ask for what they need - they ask for what they think they need. They might say:
And yes, answering those questions can build trust and followers. But followers alone don't build a business. When I stopped only creating content they said they wanted, but started making offers based on what I knew they actually needed - that’s when everything changed for me. Instead of asking “What do they want from me?”. I asked “What’s holding them back? What problem are they really trying to solve?” That’s when my services started selling. My course started converting. And I stopped guessing. This might sound rude but your job as a music creator isn’t to be a people-pleaser. It’s to be a problem solver. When someone says they want “more tutorials,” what they’re really saying is: “I don’t feel confident producing music yet.” When they ask what mic you use, they’re often saying: “I want to sound pro, but I don’t know where to start.” It’s your job to read between the lines. Because when you do, you stop blending in and start standing out as a music creator who gets them. This is when they start choosing you over anyone else for their productions, beats, samples, coaching or courses need. The good news for you is...My course MusiCreator, was built for music artists and producers who are tired of chasing likes and ready to start building something real. Inside, I show you how to: ✅ Attract your ideal audience/customer/client without going viral I’ll help you go from blindly posting content to building a sustainable income from your music - without feeling pushy or fake. In SummaryDon’t build your music business based on what people say they want. Build it on what they actually need - and what only you can give them. Hey Reader, Something funny happened last week that left me thinking about marketing—and how most musicians get it completely backward. I was explaining to my fiance how my scale is showing me the amount of body weight, muscle mass etc. He then asked me:“How does that scale work exactly?” His question stunned me a little. I paused and replied:“I actually don’t know...” We laughed about it, but then it got me thinking 🤔 I couldn't care less about how the scale works. All I care about is the...
INSIGHTS OF AN ARTIST'S JOURNEY May 6th, 2025 How I make a full-time income from my music 💸 Reader, when I started making music, the goal was just to make a track that sounded professional. Monetizing? Yes, it was always in the back of my mind - but felt like a distant dream. I used to imagine that unless I gathered 1 million followers or my song went viral, I’d always be hustling on the side, dreaming about that “one day.” But everything changed when I realized this: I didn’t need to wait...
