February 26th, 2025 Insights Of An Artist's Journey ✨Hi Reader, Let's get deep and personal with this one! ;) As you probably are aware of, I am currently taking a break from making content on social media for mental health reasons due to a personal issue. To be honest with you, this has been the hardest period of my life so far. Maybe I will get into more details when I feel ready to share but for now, know that I am getting better every single day and getting help from therapy :) The way I approach this challenging time is to see it as a period of test and growth. I know that it will help me grow afterwards, that I will learn a lot from it and that I'll come back better and stronger than before. As a result of my break, I have been doing a lot of introspection and reflection so I wanted to share a few things with you about what I've been up to lately and what will happen for the PLV Music brand in the near future. #1 - A time for learning I'm also reading a lot of books on anxiety and self development in order to regain control of my personal life. #2 - "What got you here won't get you there" If I'm being 300% honest with myself, I am not enjoying the videos I have been making for a very long time. I got stuck in this routine but it led me to burnout creatively. It is important for creators of all sort to renew themselves and to explore different formats as they grow. This is where I'm at. I want to explore different and new video formats that truly align with what I want at the moment. For example, I am incredibly tired of writing talking heads scripts that deliver quick value in 7 minutes but don't go into any depth. Those videos work great for the audience - but not for me. It's boring. Some of the videos I'd like to make include:
Let me know what you think about those video formats, if I see some interests, it might help me to move forward with them :) #3 - Time for self-care This challenging period is showing me that I have never fully dealt with my previous burnout. I've done better but I've never fully healed from it. More specifically in the aspect of "finding myself" again. For example:
And the worst is... I HATE all this! I hate acting and feeling this way. So I've been heavily focused on self-care, learning how to not feel guilty about not working 8 hours per day and finding new hobbies such as arts and crafts, sudoku, reading books and going on daily walks #4 - I miss music... We all create the music business of our choice and we all choose to monetize however we want but... I miss music. I love working with my students to help them monetize, I get so much satisfaction from seeing them win but, I have focused so much on this lately - probably because I am a people pleaser and I can't say no 🙈 - that I lost track of my own music journey. In my opinion, I don't have enough time every week to make music. Both for myself or for other people. I miss it and it makes me feel like an imposter which deep down, I heavily struggle with. So going forward, I want to readjust things in my own business to both prioritize more time for music and get more music services clients. I am planning to document the whole process on my YouTube Channel so don't worry, you'll see how I go about it if it's something you want to do for yourself! --- Anything else I can help you with? |
