Hey Reader, If you've been posting content, gaining some momentum, maybe some followers but you can't convert that attention into sales... this is why! I keep seeing music creators who are doing the work. They're posting weekly, showing up on Reels, Shorts, maybe even TikTok, building an audience that actually grows. Yet they still can’t figure out why none of it is turning into paying clients... If that’s you, I want to save you months of confusion: it’s probably not a volume problem. ✅ It’s a funnel problem. Here’s what I mean, Introducing the MusiCreator Content Funnel™ ⤵️ Almost every piece of content you post falls into one of four buckets. And each bucket has a completely different job. The problem is most music creators only ever make content from one or two of them (usually Discovery or Community) and wonder why the “get clients” part never happens. So let’s break down the four types of content, what each one is actually for, and roughly how much of your content should fall into each category. 1 - Discovery Content (~40%) This is broad, trend-driven, made to be found by people who’ve never heard of you. It’s optimized purely for reach, aka views, shares, new eyes. Its ONLY job is to get strangers to discover you exist! Here’s an example of Discovery content from my own page 👉 https://www.instagram.com/reel/DZ45kRCSJl3/ If this is 90% of what you post, you’ll probably keep growing followers… but keep wondering why nobody’s buying. 2 - Community Content (~25%) This is the lifestyle, behind-the-scenes, “here’s a bit of my actual life” content. It’s not really about music at all, it’s about letting people get to know you outside of the studio. This is what turns a stranger into someone who actually likes you and relate to you. Here’s an example 👉 https://www.instagram.com/p/Db3KuKTDP13?img_index=1 People don’t buy from brands they don’t feel anything toward. This is the content that builds that feeling. 3 - Skill Content (~25%) This is where you actually show what you know. Tutorials, breakdowns, behind-the-process content that proves you’re good at what you do. This is what builds trust and authority, which is the difference between “I like this person” and “I believe this person can actually help me.” Here’s an example 👉 https://www.instagram.com/reel/DOGPD3VAQco/ 4 - Sales Content (~10%) And finally, the one almost everyone skips. This is content with proof, credibility, and an actual offer attached. It’s the only type of content whose job is literally to get you clients but the most important because if you don't talk about what you sell, no one will ever reach out to you as... well they don't know they can even buy anything from you - duh 🙄 Here’s an example 👉 https://www.instagram.com/p/DSdxF00iPGE Now what took me way too long to understand is that you cannot skip straight from Discovery to Sales. If you’re only posting Discovery content, you might get views... but nobody trusts you enough yet to pay you. So here’s a quick way to check yourself: → go look at your last 10 posts. Which bucket does each one fall into? Most people find they’re 80%+ Discovery and Community, with maybe one or two Skill posts, and basically zero Sales content. That imbalance isn’t a mystery. It’s the exact reason your growth doesn’t turn into income. You don’t need to post more. You need to post differently, enough of each type, doing the job it’s actually meant to do. Hey Reader, I have a good and a bad news for you today, which one do you want first? Good news? Okay. The good news is that you're not bad at music. You already have the skills and experience. Now for the bad news… The bad news is that nobody knows you exist. If nobody knows what you do, how do you expect them to hire you or buy from you? That they’ll magically find you on SoundBetter?! I don’t think so. There's a difference between: → being skilled and being hireable. → being talented and...
Hey Reader, I’m a black sheep, I’ll admit it. I’m stubborn and I never do what I’m told. A true Aries ♈️ You could argue that it has its cons (and I agree), but I like to focus on the pros. Let me take you back to when I was 6 years old. At school during recess, I wasn’t with any of the other girls in my class. I was on the soccer field playing soccer with the guys. In high school, I was told to go for a scientific master. I chose applied arts. And after my applied arts studies, I wanted to...
